Information regarding the counseling department, postsecondary options, college admissions factors, how to create a college list, and summer steps. Also includes information about and links to the Postsecondary College Packet, Teacher Recommendation Form, Common App, SAT, ACT, military, and scholarships.
Freshman BRIDGE Classroom Presentation
January 25, 2024
Presented to 9th grade students in all 9th Lit classrooms. Information includes state-required activities, encompassing the AchieveWorks Personality Assessment, the 9th grade BRIDGE and Dual Enrollment survey, and a review of graduation and grade promotion requirements.
Sophomore Parent Night
January 23, 2024
Presented to 10th grade parents. Information includes graduation and promotion requirements, the 2024-25 school year registration process, the HOPE Scholarship, dual enrollment, college visits, PSAT score report interpretation, and college admissions testing.

Sophomore BRDIGE Classroom Presentation
December 5, 2023
Presented to all 10th grade students in their English classes, this presentation highlighted graduation requirements, information regarding the HOPE Scholarship, and dual enrollment. Students then completed the required BRDIGE Bill activities, including updating their Individual Graduation Plans and Strengths Explorer.
A Parent/Guardian's Guide to Thriving in High School

This presentation, presented by the Walton and Dickerson school social workers, is designed to help families navigate the high school environment, including maintaining the high school's social scene, dealing with stress and anxiety, and fostering and maintaining healthy peer and family relationships. Strategies to build good academic, social-emotional, and interpersonal habits are shared.
Freshman Family Night: Class of 2027 Freshman Class Information

This presentation discussed graduation requirements, athletic eligibility, and PSAT information from the administration. The English, math, science, and social studies department chairs discussed success and expectations in their respective disciplines.
Senior Family Night: The College Application Process

This two-part presentation for senior families focused on the college admissions process. Part 1 reviewed the college application process, college essay writing tips, and recent college statistics & trends. Part 2 focused on highly selective college admissions.
Senior Classroom Presentation

This presentation for seniors was delivered to all 12th grade English classes. Topics discussed included post-secondary options, the college application process, Naviance, requesting transcripts and letters of recommendation, financial aid, and volunteer service hours.
